Poudre School District closes schools Tuesday. All Poudre School District campuses will be closed Tuesday because of expected sub-zero temperatures.

"Factors include the safety of students and staff related to the icy road conditions, students who would walk to school and/or would wait for buses in sub-zero temperatures, and due to concerns related to operation of buses in sub-zero temperatures," district spokeswoman Ellen Laubhan said.

Most other area school districts, including Thompson and Windsor, also have canceled school Tuesday.

Overnight lows tonight are expected to reach 5 degrees below zero, and the high temperature for Tuesday may not make it out of negative numbers. The overnight low Wednesday is expected to be even colder, dipping to 16 to 20 degrees below zero.
