Just don't go comparing him to those 'Jersey Shore' kids -- especially not Snooki, that "skank" who's "not even pretty!" (His words, not mine.)
But the eternally sleeveless comedian and the Snookster do have one thing in common: no filters on what they'll say. While promoting his new show 'Only in America' (premieres Tuesday, Feb. 8, 9PM ET on History), Larry got fired up talking about all the nice people he met while on the road, on his mission to prove that the US-of-A is the greatest country ever ... despite how our reality TV stars make us look.
"You watch TV and you kind of think the future generation's a bunch of dirtbags," Larry says. But he's proud his show spotlights the other side. "It doesn't matter what color you are, what country you're from -- we're all out there enjoying ourselves."
Of course, the show isn't all fun and games. "Some of these episodes you can't be real jokey in," he says, referring to one specific episode where he watched soldiers launch planes off the USS Nimitz, one of the largest warships in the world. "When you're in a situation where it's life or death, seriously, it's not time to be funny."
Laughs or not, Larry does think that certain episodes will make us feel better about the future of our country. And if that doesn't entertain you, then maybe seeing him finally put on something with sleeves to brave the bitter cold in Minnesota will.
