Martina McBride's National Anthem Opens AFC Championship Game. Martina McBride, the 44-year-old country music singer, opened up Sunday’s AFC Championship Game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets by singing the national anthem.

“They say it's [the] coldest game [in] Steeler's history,” she tweeted after singing at the football game. “I can finally feel my fingers and toes again!”

The game, which opened at 6:30 p.m. EST at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh and aired live on CBS, welcomed McBride, who the Steelers call their “good luck charm.”

“Martina is 2-0 and we hope she brings the magic to stay undefeated,” Steelers Marketing Manager John Wodarek said in a press release on McBride’s website.

McBride, fondly known by many as the “Céline Dion of Country Music,” was excited by her part in the game.

“Singing our National Anthem is always an honor. I will always remember singing the anthem in Pittsburgh 2 years ago for the playoff game,” McBride said in the Jan. 21 release. “It's amazing to be there in the middle of all those football fans and all that excitement."

McBride, a multiple winner of CMA Female Vocalist of the Year and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year, and Grammy Award winner, has sold more than 18 million albums and had 24 Top 10 singles.

She announced on her website that she is planning to release her 11th studio album later this year.
