Lizard Lick Towing gets own TV show. We’ve covered Ron Shirley and his Lizard Lick repo crew before, when the trio made an appearance at Wake County Speedway’s Fan Appreciation Night and when Shirley published “The Wit & Wisdom of Ron Shirley.”
Initially part of the TruTV reality show “All Worked Up,” the crew now has their own series, “Lizard Lick Towing.” The show premieres Monday, Feb. 7.
The News & Observer recently ran a story about the new series. If you’ve never seen “All Worked Up” and aren’t sure what to expect, Josh Shaffer does a nice job of summing up Shirley’s work environment in the first sentence: "In 15 years as a repo man, Ron Shirley has survived a broken bottle to the head, a baseball bat to the legs, a shot-up tow truck and the sight of a naked man sprinting out of his house at midnight, screaming for his reclaimed coupe."
As for all the attention the show has brought him and his business, Shirley seems unaffected by it all.
“Being on TV don’t make you important any more than being born in an oven makes you a biscuit.”
