Oregon Basketball Court Angers TV Viewers (VIDEO). Related searches oregon ducks basketball court, matthew knight arena, oregon s new basketball court. The Oregon Ducks unveiled a brand new arena last night, but it's the court that's taken the spotlight.

The $237 million arena's court is drawing a lot of attention not only for it's radical design, which can be distracting, but the tremendous glare viewers at home saw as they watched the game. Oregon fans were surprised by the tremendous contrast caused by the different colors on the floor as they watched from home. You can judge just how bad the problem is from the video below.

Sean Meagher of OregonLive, who was at last night's game against the USC Trojans, notes that the problem is nowhere near as bad from the arena. "It does take a minute for your eyes and mind to adjust to Tinker Hatfield's take on the floor, but the contrast and glare are not nearly as stark from an arena seat as it appears to be on television," wrote Meagher.

The design of the court itself has also been turning heads, drawing attention for its unique design and artistic style.

From Yahoo Sports:

* Hard as it may be to believe, complaints over the glare actually overshadowed reaction to the unveiling of Oregon's crazy new basketball floor. The court is framed on all sides by a forest of brown-and-tan fir trees, an homage to the school's picturesque Pacific Northwest setting and to Oregon's 1939 national title team nicknamed "The Tall Firs."

* Like the famed blue "Smurf Turf" at Boise State's football stadium, Oregon's forest floor is meant to be an iconic design that will immediately be recognizable to TV viewers nationwide. The design already generated buzz this summer and will surely draw more attention in the coming weeks. - Yahoo Sports
